Where it all started, Rene Canonica (see upper right photo).
1936:
222 12th Ave.
Within 5-years of coming to the United States, Rene had his own shop.
 1937:
1308 Pacific Ave.
Going up in the world. The company name was now in gold-leaf lettering!
 1944:
1452 Broadway
We were on Broadway street for the next 40 years. As the company needed more space, Rene just added another bit of roof to the rear of the building. Eventually, the entire, 120' deep lot was covered. Without a master building plan however, nothing was uniform and probably not to code. When the Loma Prieta earthquake hit, in 1989, the building squeaked but there was zero structural damage.
 1970:
1452 Broadway
By the 1970's, we had a new logo and the building was treated to a fresh paint job.
